You must have seen the portraits of Photographer François Berthier. He captures the images of actors and actresses at the Cannes Film Festival. But who is the man behind the lens? Francois Berthier started taking pictures at just 17 years old when his mother gave him her old Pentax K1. After he graduated law in 2002, he became a rock journalist. At 28 years old, he was named Editor in Chief of his rock magazine. InDecember of 2008, after 6 year interviewing famous rock stars, François decided that time has come to return to his first love, shooting women. He started a career as a fashion & celebrity photographer. Seven month later, he was shooting Lady Gaga.

On his wish list for the 69th Festival de Cannes Berthier says he hopes to shoot Director / actress Jodie Foster, Actor George Clooney and Actress Julia Roberts. Of course Berthier will have a chance during the press conference of their film “Money Monster” but what Berthier is really hoping for is an exclusive. Breather is also a Getty Images photographer. The competition is tough amongst his peers. Everyone wants that shot that will appear on the cover of the most known magazines in the world.

François has been privileged to photograph the biggest celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Kevin Costner, Ashton Kutcher, Marion Cotillard, Mads Mikkelsen, Steven Spielberg, Lady Gaga, Tom Hanks, Christy Turlington, Ben Stiller, Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, Cate Blanchett, Pharell Williams, and Jared Leto.
