Matt Drenik aka BATTLEME has a new album out, Habitual Love Songs. The SoundCloud link is below so you have no excuse no to listen! Trust me you shall not be disappointed. Habitual Love Songs official release mid-January and launch shows lined up to start in Portland the 11th of February Drenik is keeping himself busy. Check out his Facebook page for more info.

Prior to BATTLEME’s Future Runs Magnetic released in 2014, came a tour lasting almost a year performing multiple headline shows and many impressive support slots. Drenik then proceeded to have a break from the road and spend some time on his writing. A number of retreats dedicated purely writing to I’m sure, resulted in 20 demos and then on into this new album. After listening to it, I want to know where he went.

Drenik’s drive to pursue BATTLEME further came after a rollercoaster of a year back in 2009, fighting off a deadly auto-immune disease to which almost led to the loss of his eyesight but also the trip into the national spotlight when his song “Burn This Town” featured on the finale of Sons of Anarchy season 2. These events lead to his move to Portland in 2012 and then onto his self-titles debut.

Constantly growing and diversifying as an artist, Drenik’s creativity not only lies in its songwriting niche but in writing as a whole contributing to Oregon Public Broadcasting, whilst also building up his own studio with and working with the likes of artist Charlie Hilton.

I look forward to hearing what else BATTLEME has in store.
