Undoubtedly showcasing Parker at his heights in fluency as an improviser. This classic album produced by Norman Granz, and released by Verve records in 1995, is a compilation reissued for CD of two original albums titled ‘ Charlie Parker with Strings’ recorded in 1949 and 1950, both released by Mercury Records, as well as an additional 10 tracks. Five of these ten additional tracks date from a Carnegie Hall performance, four from another studio session recording in 1952, and one from Granz’s ‘The Jazz Scene’, recorded in Carnegie Hall in 1947, with Neal Hefti.
