If you want to join the history of whiskey, discover new cocktails or just have a good time you should take a look at this event. The Distilled Spirits Council provides a unique opportunity to join the Heritage of American Whiskey at this weekend. The initiative, supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will feature an exclusive tasting of fine American spirits and a cocktail demonstration to highlight the mixability and versatility of American spirits for national and local media. The Council will also host a product and cocktail sampling for industry executives, beverage buyers and distributors, mixologists and others involved in the beverage alcohol trade. District Distilling Co. is Washington D.C.’s first combination Distillery + Kitchen + Bar. Located within a series of historic 19th century row houses at the heart of the bustling 14th and U Street Corridors, District Distilling Co. is dedicated to creating and serving exceptional spirits and ingredient-focused dishes for an urban distilling and dining experience. District Distilling will be featuring its three Gins that highlight wildcrafted junipers from the Texas mountains. The events will highlight some of the finest spirits available from the U.S., such as Bourbon Whiskey, Tennessee Whiskey, American Rye Whiskey and American Style Gin. JP Fetherston, Head Mixologist at Washington D.C.’s Colombia Room, winner of Best American Cocktail Bar at this year’s Tales of the Cocktail, will lead the tastings and cocktail demonstrations. Personally, i’m highly recommending to try Wild June Gin.
